Annual reports

An annual report is a document that summarises a company’s financial results, financial position and operations during the financial year. For Swedish limited companies, an annual report is mandatory under the Annual Accounts Act and must include a balance sheet, profit and loss account, notes, management report and, for larger companies, also a sustainability report under CSRD . It provides shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders with an insight into a company’s finances.

What is included in an annual report?

Swedish annual reports include a profit and loss account showing revenue and costs, a balance sheet with assets, liabilities and equity, cash flow analysis for companies above a certain size, notes with explanations and specifications and a management report with CEO word and business description. Larger companies must also include a sustainability report in accordance with CSRD requirements. For listed companies, a corporate governance report is also required.
