Software translation for ESGgo

ESGgo's sustainability data platform needed Swedish translation — precise ESRS terminology and software UI knowledge combined in a single specialist project.

Software translation for ESGgo

ESGgo is a fast-growing sustainability software platform that helps companies collect, validate, and report ESG data in line with the CSRD and ESRS frameworks. When they needed a Swedish-language version of their platform, they turned to Fluid Translation.

The project involved translating the complete UI — menus, tooltips, error messages, onboarding flows, and help documentation — from English into Swedish. The challenge was not only linguistic fluency, but a deep understanding of the ESRS taxonomy and how sustainability professionals think and talk about their work.

Fluid Translation assembled a team combining our software localisation expertise with specialist knowledge of CSRD/ESRS reporting. We built a dedicated term base for ESGgo that aligned with both official EU terminology and everyday Swedish usage in sustainability departments.

The result was a Swedish UI that felt native — not translated. ESGgo's Swedish users could navigate the platform intuitively, with terminology they recognised from their own sustainability reporting workflows.

This project demonstrates how financial and sustainability expertise can make the difference in software translation. Generic translation tools and non-specialist translators cannot reliably handle the regulatory precision required in ESRS-linked software. For another example of specialist CSRD/ESRS translation, see our ETS NORD case study.
